What to Expect
Maxillo Winnipeg is happy to work with your insurance provider to reimburse you for the treatment provided. We are one of the few specialist offices in the city that offer direct billing/assignment of insurance. Ask our front desk staff if you would be a candidate for this if you are interested. It is important to note that same-day treatment would not be an option for this method as we would need to see you for a consultation first to send a pre-determination.
Consultation
The consultation is an opportunity to meet each other and discuss your surgery. We will review x-rays, medical history and other information relevant to your treatment. We always discuss your anesthetic options (local anesthesia, oral sedation, intravenous sedation or general anesthesia) along with risks/benefits and associated costs. Same-day consultation and treatment may be an option depending on the complexity of your procedure and medical history.
We want you to leave the consultation with a treatment roadmap so there are no hidden costs or unknown appointments.
Treatment
On your surgery date you will be greeted by staff and have the opportunity to ask any questions related to not only the surgery, but also potential need for follow-up appointments. If you are having intravenous sedation, you will also meet our anesthesiology doctor who will review the anesthetic selection and your medical history.
Follow-up
If follow-ups are required, our staff will book them in advance or at your convenience. Most minor procedures do not require a follow-up appointment but should you wish to see your surgeon, we will schedule one without question.
